Its very easy to use. My wife has wanted one for a very long time. She absolutely loves this machine. This is a great machine for home use. Once you learn how to use it, lattes and hot steamed drinks are ready for you. I would run bottled water through the machine. I would also use expresso ground coffe and not drip or course ground coffe.

Skip to main content. About this product. Used with ground espresso, this unique filter mixes air into the brewing process to produce a perfect crema. Distinguished by its caramel color, the crema is the seesnce of authentic espresso.

Additional Product Features Batteries Required? My solution was to use the glass espresso pot from my old espresso machine. Overall Review: The person who said that pods make poor coffee doesn't own this machine or hasn't read the instructions.

This isn't a pod system, though perhaps it could use pods. Rather, you use your own espresso coffee. It is true that there are other, better, and much more expensive machines out there.

However, this fit my budget well. My last machine, a refurbished Krups my husband gave to me, lasted for close to 10 years of daily use, but the coffee never had as smooth a taste as the first cup out of the DiLonghi. Also, newegg rocks, as always. My old machine broke a week ago. I placed the order, and I'm now drinking espresso once more. Great service! Pros: Outstanding value for the price.

This machine uses a 5 BAR pump instead of the heat engine normally found in machines in this price range. Also has a real boiler instead of just a heating coil. Makes great coffee with nice creama. Frother is sufficient once you get used to it. Don't let the price fool you, this is a quality unit. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Cons: 1. The frother generally takes two cycles to adequately heat and froth. I submerge the frother deeply the first time and simply use it to heat the milk, watching for the ready light to go off. Once the ready light comes back on, I go for round two and froth up the heated milk. I'm usually doing enough milk for cappuccinos, so that might be why I have to do it this way. The clearance between the nozzles and the drip tray is very small.

You'll need low profile oz espresso cups. No big deal to me, but don't expect a larger cup to fit easily under the nozzles. This machine will NOT do a double shot, no matter what the manufacturer says. The pod system will simply not hole enough coffee for a double. Overall Review: I've read comments that the built in tamper is in an awkward location Make sure and let the machine cool before restowing, the tamper is near the boiler and you can burn your hand.

Practice for a while if you are new to espresso. There are a lot of variables to work through. YouTube has some good tutorial videos. Wish I had picked up this unit long ago Pros: I find this unit impressive, and easy to use and clean. It is not a cumbersome process to make espresso and lattes, nor is it difficult to wipe down and clean for daily use.

Easy to disassemble for thorough cleaning.
